meeting with group

we plan to meet up on Thursday  to discus our plans for our virtual game, in this meeting we will finalize the idea and begin planning the concept art so that we can show the class what our idea consists of with out have to talk and describe all of it.

my add on to our idea

my idea for adding to the game idea is, have different section of the level which is all part of the same story, so it is the same people at different times of the day or on different days.

for example: there could be a day out where the children are going to the beach so they have to go on a train and then go to the beach, during this time you have to click on potential hazards they pass along the way to there destination.

another episode could take place in the house where the parents are doing house work, this could include checking of fire alarms and putting dangerous substances out of the reach of children.
the final episode could take place in a old peoples home where you have to make the environment safe for the elderly.

game for the fire service

we have been set the task of creating a virtual game for the fire service to spread awareness about safety in the home, for the elderly, train tracks, beaches, rivers and for children. these games have to be very informative and at the same time simple and easy to understand at a primary school level and by the elderly who might not be as knowledgeable when it come to the virtual world.

i have been put into a team with ed and Amanda, the first thing that we did was list down all the items of the home that could be dangerous or cause a fire, at the same time was listed all the safety devices that help prevent a fire or extinguish it.

the first idea we came up with was to have a side scrolling game where you have to spot the dangers as you go through the level and when you get to the end of the game the game will give you a score depending how many you found and sorted.  one of these ideas included using different forms of fire extinguishers to put out different forms of fires.
